Yay for color!

Wow, it has been a long time since I posted.  It seems that when I have time to post I have no new projects, or when I have the projects I don't have the time to post.  I have been busy crafting.  I entered the Royal Challenge for Paper Crafts Magazine, good luck to all of you who entered, and this morning a friend and I put together many cards for the new babies at our church.  They came out so adorable.
I have one other project that is recent.  We are going to a wedding soon so I had to make a card, of course.  I had alot of fun making this because I used a lot of techniques I normally don't use.  Also used a template that is rarely ever touched.  Usually you think of light colors for a wedding, but I wanted something a little brighter.  Here is my card.

I added lots of color with the embellishements.  Also did some paper piecing and added some vellum.  Love this card.  I am also entering this for the Wee Memories color challenge.  Go here to enter your own colorful project or just to see all the projects.  Until next time, hopefully not so long, happy crafting.

Granny's Got a Brand New Bag

So my grandma was telling me how she never has any cards around when she needs them and can't get to a store very often.  So I decided to make a bunch for her.  I started with a place to put them.  She loves red handbags and I found the cutest leather paper on sale so I made a purse card holder.

I started with an oatmeal box and cut the bottom off, then covered outside and in with paper.  I had to use alot of brads to ensure everything stayed in place for a long time.  And for an extra little touch I used pop tops as buckles.  I made the little pocket with leftover paper, then faux stitched all the edges.  I think it really turned out nicely.  I'm even entering it for the Moxie Fab World- Tuesday Trigger

Stephen's Birthday

Sunday was a great day.  The week before may have been chaotic (and thank you again Amy for all your help), but it was so worth it to see how much he enjoyed his big day.  Another big event occured two days after.  He lost his first tooth.  They sure do grow up fast.  So sad.  Here are a few pics of the big days.

He was so excited about his new telescope.  They are gonna be out late tonight looking at the moon.

I found this really cool flag football set at the Ben Franklins in Wilmington.  The kids had a blast playing football

The cupcakes are red velvet (which kinda looked like dirt ironically)  with green tinted cream cheese frosting.  On the top on piped out yard lines and added a game day flag.  He loved helping me make them.

We have been working on this tooth for awhile.  He already has the adult tooth coming in.  Wow!  Now we'll have to see how long the one next to it takes.

Craftwise I haven't gotten anything done.  Still working on his treat boxes for his Halloween party.  I decided to make fry boxes.  They're only about halfway done.  I also need to make some cards for people.  A friend asked me to make a few for her and I am gonna make a bunch for my grandmother so she will have them on hand when she needs one.
After all this I am so needing a break.  Thank goodness for scrap night at church.  I am seriously behind and this will help a little to catch up.  I think I will try to get some more things done while Michael is in Conneticutt as well next week.  Well that is all that is going on in the Condreay house.  I hope to have some more things up soon.

Card Crazy!

I have been super busy the last few days trying to catch up on my blog and cards.  They are starting to pile up on  me.  Now I need a way to use them.  Any ideas?  I just don't have that many people to send cards to, but it is too much fun to make them.
Anyway I have another bunch that I recently made for entries into challenges.  These are all for Stamping Vacation challenges.  They have a ton so check out their blog if you want to enter them.  I will post links for challenges with the card.
The first is about speed.  I finally got to use a few new stamp sets that I picked up at CHA.

While I missed the deadline for the speed challenge I still wanted to post the card.  The rocket card is for the reflection challenge.  I used the cloud stamp from the first card and flipped it to make the exhaust for the rocket.  SV-Technique Challenge-reflection

My next card I thought was super cute.  I got the stamp set a long time ago at Michael's Arts and Crafts.  Amazing what neat little goodies you can find in the dollar bin.

Next challenge was to pick 3 things from their list and make a card.  I chose vellum, brads, and yellow.

The yellow is a little hard to see, but it is stamped on the base card under the vellum and in the center of the petals..

I chose the next challenge because my son loves pilots and I had the cutest little snoopy stamp.  I don't take full credit for this card though because I got the idea from someone on splitcoast some time ago.  Actually I think I will try to make a new entry for this challenge, but I will post this one for now.  SV-When I Grow Up Challenge

The last challenge is for a masculine card using deer or elk.  This is a great card I think for a male birthday or for father's day.  SV-What Guy Challenge

So that is all I have for today, but I am still busy working on those SV challenges.  Come try them out.  Happy crafting!

Jewelry

Making jewelry is not easy, but when you're finished you have such a great feeling of accomplishment.  At least I do.  It's wonderful to look at something as say 'Wow, I actually made that'.  I have tried various types of jewelry making since CHA, and I have to say that beading is a huge pain.  I have great respect for those who do this alot.  It takes alot of time and patience to make something out of beads, especially seed beads which is what I make my necklace out of.  Took forever, but I am happy with how it turned out.  I can't remember which website I got the design from, but I think it is an Apache leaf beading pattern.  Here it is.

Mostly I just worked from a kit.  I used a braided cord techinique to make this next set.

This last one I made with wire and leftover seed beads and beads from the handles of a gift bag.  I am not above reusing materials.

Not as happy with this one.  Next time I will have to use thinner wire.  So those are my attempts at making jewelry.  I hope that it might inspire one of you to create something as well.  Until next time, happy crafting.

More Goodies

Here are some more super cool challenges for all you crafters.

This is for Everything but the Kitchen Sink EBTKS Challenge 23 and
Your Next Stamp YNS Challenge 25.  This is also for the cracked glass challenge at Just Us Girls though it is hard to see the cracked glass in the image.

Next card is for For Fun Challenges Sassy Studios 3 Color Challenge

I started this card for another challenge on Play Date Cafe but I missed the deadline.  Luckily I found For Fun Challenges.  The third color is gold.  I used gold glitter glue and brads for a little pop.

Next up is SSIC Challenge 56.  Stamping Sisters in Christ use Bible verses to give great new ideas for crafts.  Here is my sample.

The challenge was to use faux or real stitching in your project.  Not something I normally do but I thought I would try.

The last card for this post is for a challenge on Card Positioning Systems.  It is a sketch challenge.  The sketch is posted on the left of the page.  CPS Sketch 184

So that is all I have for now.  My next post will mostly be challenges from Stamping Vacation.  I will also be working on the World Card Making Day Challenge from Paper Crafts magazine.  Thanks for reading, and I promise to get up the pics of the jewelry soon.

I'm Back!

Sorry I've been gone so long.  It has been crazy busy around here, but I finally got some time to create some neat cards.  Most of these are for challenges.  I will try to include a link to these challenges so you can play along.  The first card is for Our Daily Bread Designs- Sparkle Challenge.  It's a little difficult to see the sparkle but the snowman's hat, the snowflakes, and the "snowy ground" under the snowman are all glitter.
Next is a card for the Moxie Fab Holiday Challenge

the Moxie Fab Holiday Gift Challenge, this is a mini scrapbook that I got from Michaels.  It makes a wonderful gift for anyone who would like to srapbook but doesn't have the time or materials to do it.

.

This card was also for another challenge Clean and Simples FTL107 .

I have one other card for Moxie Fab that is also for The Cats Pajamas.

That is it for this post, but I have lots more.  I need to go get my son from the bus soon, but I will be back with the rest of the challenges.  Thanks for reading.
